Obituary of Edward Blunt
Edward Blunt, a lifelong resident of Bloomfield, entered into eternal life on Monday July 13th. He was 92.
Ed served his country honorably as a Pharmacist Mate First Class in WWII. During WWII Edward was a participant in Operation Tiger, a tragic mission, in preparation for The Normandy Invasion. Ed was a graduate of Upsala College. He worked as a budget analyst at Kearfott for 30 years.
Ed was an avid Mets fan who loved spending time with his family above all else.
Edward leaves behind a loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy, their son Edward Blunt, as well as two daughters; Karen Blunt-Garner, in addition to Patricia Longo and her husband Stephen. Ed leaves behind five grandchildren, Jenna, Jonathan, Julianne, Justin, and Stephen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are asked to visit on Thursday, July 16th from 6-9pm at Halpin – Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 10:30 am at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
