About Us

Our History:

Frank Halpin’s Brookdale Funeral Home was established in the early 1960’s by Frank and his wife Geraldine Halpin. Frank and Geraldine served the community as licensed funeral directors and were very well known. Their son Frank Halpin Jr. also became a licensed funeral director in the mid 1970’s and he joined his parents in the family business. Twenty years later after the death of his father he took over as the manager. Frank Jr. and his mother continued to work together side by side until her death. Frank Jr. was well respected serving the community until his death in 2012. Frank Jr’s sons and daughter continued to operate the funeral home and they engaged Ron Mowad to serve as the licensed funeral director and manager. Ron brought many years of experience with him. In 2014 Frank Jr’s children decided to devote all of their time towards their own separate careers passing along the funeral home to the Bitecola family.

The Bitecolas passionately look forward to carrying out the Halpin family legacy of service to the community. Daniel Bitecola along with his son Daniel III are licensed funeral directors and are very proud to be the new owners of Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Service LLC. The Bitecola family has many years of experience beginning their part time careers in the funeral industry in the early 1990’s. Building an excellent reputation through honesty, service, hard work, and dedication this new venture quickly grew into a full time career as a family owned and operated funeral trade business serving many funeral homes throughout the state of New Jersey. As a family business our commitment is to continue to operate our new funeral home with care and compassion, while “Making a difference through family and community”. Everyone is always welcome to stop in to visit our home and meet our family.
