Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Horuzy

Elizabeth A. Horuzy Elizabeth A. Horuzy, formally of Bloomfield, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015. She was 91. Elizabeth was born and raised in Nutley, to the late Albin and Mary Wilson, and later moved to Bloomfield upon marriage. Elizabeth was a member of St Thomas Church. She was an avid reader, homemaker, and loved playing Canasta. Most importantly she was known as a loving mother and grandmother. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Joseph Horuzy in 1974, and two children Joan and Joseph Horuzy. She leaves behind three children, two daughters, Elizabeth Cross and her husband Jim of Port Monmouth, Maryann Frey and her husband Timothy of Clifton, and a son John Horuzy and his wife Maria of Waldwick. Elizabeth also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Derek, Kyle, and Meaghan Cross; Gregory and Samantha Frey, Anthony, Cristina, and Justin Horuzy. Friends and family are asked to visit on Monday, Feb. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m., at Halpin – Bitecola Brookdale Funeral and Cremation Service, 1284 Broad St. in Bloomfield. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Feb. 10, at St Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave. in Bloomfield, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
