Obituary of William Tomaiko

William A. Tomaiko of Bloomfield passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the age of 85. Born in New York City, he had lived in Bloomfield for 58 years. Mr. Tomaiko was a Partner with Cal Carting in New York City for 40 years before his retirement in 1988. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1178 of Bloomfield, a member of the Holy Name Society, the Discussion Club, and a Lector, all of St. Thomas Church. Bloomfield. Mr. Tomaiko is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Catherine (nee Greco) Tomaiko; children, Gary & his wife Ann and Karen & her husband Gerard; and 6 grandchildren, Christine, Jackie, Michael, David, Danny and Diana. Visitation will be at Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p..m . The funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 10:00 am.
