Obituary of Eleanor M Luddy

Eleanor M. Luddy, of Bloomfield passed peacefully in her sleep to eternal rest on Sunday, March 18, 2018. She was 91 years old. Her life was dedicated to the care and happiness of her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) F. Luddy, Sr., who she met at Koppers Coke in South Kearny, NJ. They were married for 42 years at Jack’s passing in 1991.

 Eleanor leaves behind her six children – 3 sons, John F. Luddy Jr., Thomas Luddy (Jan), and Robert Luddy (Pam), and 3 daughters Barbara Morella, Nancy Dwyer, and Kathleen Nichols (Dan). She was also preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law - Louie Morella and Timothy C. Dwyer.

Eleanor also leaves behind 9 loving grandchildren – Daria and Michael Luddy, Christopher, Caitlyn and Matthew Dwyer, Kimberly Seese, Sean Albrecht; Casey and Marina Luddy; as well as 4 great-grandchildren –Stella and Greyson Seese, Claire Eleanor Dwyer, and Jack Luddy; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 22nd, from 5 to 8pm, at Halpin - Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad St in Bloomfield.  A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 23rd, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Ave in Bloomfield.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, at 385 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham NY 12110.
