On this anniversary morning, I lit a candle, placed it at the feet of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and said a decade of the rosary in loving memory of Jessica Rose. With each Hail Mary was an offering of love and remembrance to the people in Jessica’s life; her mother, her father, her brother, her grandmother, the voices of the St. Valentine choir (both the children’s and adult), the Kelm and Sass family (where we celebrated birthday BBQ’s and pool parties), her fellow classmates from Demarest School (where I was her lunch aide and playground monitor in the third grade), for Mary – the lunch mother at Demarest, and for all the friends and neighbors of the Pastore family who rallied together with an outpouring of love and support for Jessica and her family.
Jessica is still an inspiration all year round. One just needs to look to the beauty and wonder in nature to see what she possessed in that special, incredible, kind, thoughtful, loving, gentle soul of hers.
I am still in awe of you, Jessica.
Thank you, dear Angel, for sharing your love of life with us.

Everything about the beauty of spring screams your name, Jessica. Including the Virgin Mary blue sky; a gentle reminder of how genuine your concern was for everyone whom you met and the selfless, caring individual you were - and the angel you now are. The warmth of your smile is forever in my heart.

Family of Jessica Pastore
There is no shortage of advice on this subject. Not all of it, however, is helpful. For instance, you may find that some will advise you not to cry or show your feelings in any way. Others may push you to do the opposite and expose all your feelings. The Bible presents a more balanced view, one that is supported by modern research.
* This is not a Bible teaching. The Bible reveals three causes of death.—Ecclesiastes 9:11; John 8:44; Romans 5:12. [End of Footnote.]
.Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4
The best Friend a bereaved person can have is our Creator, is God. Pour out your heart to him in prayer because “he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.” (Philippians 4:6, 7) Also, allow God to help you heal by means of his consoling Word, the Bible. Make a list of comforting scriptures You may even want to memorize a few of them. Having such thoughts to ponder over may be especially helpful at night when you are alone and find it hard to sleep.—Isaiah 57:15. Doing so can bring joy and may ease a person’s grief. (Acts 20:35) Many bereaved Christians have found that working to help others has brought them great comfort.—2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.
• God feels for you in your pain.—Psalm 55:22; 1 Peter 5:7.
• God patiently listens to the prayers of his servants.—Psalm 86:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
• God misses people who have died.—Job 14:13-15.
• God promises to resurrect the dead.—Isaiah 26:19; John 5:28, 29.
Sincerely,
Roberta

Dear Pastore Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Jessica was an amazing human being. The following is my tribute to her on my Facebook page:
I've never met anyone who was always excited to see me. Every single day in school, for 2 years. "Ms. Roble, you'll never guess what my dog did last night..." You loved to learn, but more importantly, you loved people, animals, and life as a whole, despite all the reasons and obstacles you shouldn't have. It was an honor and a privilege to be your teacher, Jessica. But you taught me so much more about life. I will certainly miss you. And the world will miss you. May you rest in peace, dear Jessica. <3
