I wish to send you my condolences, even though late. I will not forget Mr. Ferrara, and spend many happy hours in elementary school band and in flute lessons. While I studied science and worked in industry for many years, I continue to enjoy music and recently went back to school and acquired a degree in music. I teach piano and voice, and still do play flute for various occasions. He was was great with the kids, and very helpful and gentle in individual and group lessons.

I was traveling abroad, and am sorry that I could not come to the viewing or funeral to pay my respects in person. I have played in the Bloomfield Civic Band for over 30 years, Dominic was a wonderful conductor. He was dedicated to music and to the goal of making music available to everyone, both as performers and listeners.
He was also a force for the cause of music and art in the Town of Bloomfield. His influence will be missed by everyone in the community.
When I wanted to return to music after many years of not playing, he was patient and encouraging. I appreciated his kindness and friendship. I will miss him, but his memory will be there every time the Civic Band performs. .
Please accept my sincerest condolences.

A light and a lot of good sound has gone out of New Jersey, with Dominick's passing! I played for him in various groups for many years, and he helped me out with band music for concerts of my own, as well as playing in them.
Sympathy, Blessings and Love to Dominick IV and Dana.

Nancy and I are sorry for the loss of your father. He was a dedicated musician and friend, and will be sorely missed by many people. We have to say that Dominick introduced us to many orchestral transcriptions and opera excerpts that we would never have played anywhere else, and are grateful for the experience of having played in the Bloomfield Civic Band and Garden State Concert Band. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Lee & Nancy Moody

Mr. Ferrara was my Mr. Opus. He was my music teacher in elementary, middle school and high school and was my favorite teacher. He gifted me confidence, kindness and the gift of music. I played in the band and orchestra as well as in the Bloomfield orchestra for several years. He loved John Philip Sousa like no one else and I fondly remember him every time a Sousa march is played. His lasting impression will last me a lifetime. XO

I first met Dominick when I first started teaching at Clarendon School iin 1962. He was then president of the Teachers" Association. He was a person who stood out with his personality and his charm. Music and Italian was his livlihood and pass time. I remember him also at St, Anne"s Feast in Hoboken as he led the band in the procession. Dominicjk will truly be missed by all who knew him. May he now be at peace with the Lord.

Mr. Ferrara was the band teacher in Lincoln Jr. High in Secaucus around 1964 or 1965 when my chorus teacher left on maternity leave just a few weeks before the concert. He took on both groups for practice. He was a kind man, but firm and he wanted us to do well. The night of the performance, he stood on a big platform and conducted both band and chorus. We ended with both groups singing and playing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". My dad, who was not into school music, was stunned. Mr. Ferrera's parents sat in the front, and my parents told me that they, as were his own parents, were moved to tears. I seem to remember a standing ovation No one had ever taken on both groups like that. It is a night I will always remember and Mr. Ferrara was spectacular. Heaven's angels are surely learning some new instrumental techniques from him. God Bless the family that supported this man who made such an impression on the lives of children. Bravo, Mr Ferrara! L. Heartfelt sympathy to the Ferrara Family. We enjoyed his passion for music at many Christmas Concerts at St, Thomas the Apostle, just recently this past December. He was extremely involved & loved by many here in Bloomfield & will be missed. We pray that you will find comfort in knowing that he is now in God's Kingdom with your mother. Rest in Peace, Dominick.

Our deepest condolences and prayers are with Dominick and his family. We are shocked and saddened by his passing. We loved working with Dominick over the decades and enjoyed every single moment as it was always professional, fun and illuminating to make music with him and his fine bands. Carmen and I have many cherished memories not only of our time on stage with Dominick but the times we spent at his home discussing music and reminiscing with both he and Phyllis, most especially their deep love for the music of Frank Sinatra and the Great American Songbook tradition. Dominick was a lion on the New Jersey music scene over the years and will be greatly missed. His like and kindness will not be seen again. He was a uniquely beautiful and talented man.

Mr. Ferrara was my teacher in Lincoln Jr. High School. Eventually I became his coworker in both Clarendon and Huber Street School. He was a fantastic person. We missed him when he retired. His new "gig" is probably directing the angel band. May he rest in peace. To his family, please know that he touched many, many students in very positive ways.
